A Relationship with the Sun

I feel my body immersed in a
never ending loop, as it exists
within the light in the room.

Noticing days through
the shapes of the shadows.
Ever aware of the Sun.
Skin measuring the rotation of the
Earth, our own rotation,
while these feet are
steadily memorizing time
on four walls and a floor.

A diary of a relationship with the Sun,
written during the winter.

My photography series—developed over four months of observing the sun’s rotation from my apartment—was exhibited at Soho Photo Gallery, New York City.

Founded in 1971, Soho Photo Gallery is New York’s longest-running artist-run photography gallery, where I became an affiliated member.
